ReChannel Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 July 2026

ReChannel helps you redirect a moment of distracted scrolling toward someone you care about. To do that it needs to know who matters to you — which is genuinely personal information. This policy explains, in plain terms, exactly what happens to it.

The short version. Almost everything stays on your phone. The names, contact details and notes about the people you care about are never sent to us or to anyone else. When ReChannel needs help writing a suggestion, it sends a stripped-down version of your situation — with every real name replaced by a meaningless one-time placeholder — to an AI service, and puts the real names back on your phone afterwards. You can delete everything from inside the app at any time.

Who we are

ReChannel is made by FugueWorks, LLC, Clifton, Virginia. You can reach us at connect@fugueworks.com.

What stays on your phone

The following is stored only on your device. It is not transmitted to us, and we cannot see it:

If you delete the app, this information is gone.

What leaves your phone, and in what form

ReChannel uses an AI service to write the actual wording of a suggestion. Before anything is sent, your phone strips it down. Specifically:

The AI service receives something closer to "suggest a way to reach out to loved_1, who enjoys hiking" than anything identifying. The response comes back still using the placeholder, and your phone substitutes the real name in before you see it.

What our own server keeps

Our server exists mainly to hold the AI service's access key, which cannot safely be stored inside a phone app. It keeps very little:

Sign-in and your email address

Signing in is optional — you can use ReChannel without an account. If you do sign in, you give us an email address and we send you a six-digit code. The code is held in memory for ten minutes and then discarded. We derive an anonymous identifier from your email so that the same person gets the same identifier on a different device. We do not keep a database of users or email addresses.

Who else is involved

Being straight with you about the AI service. We do not have a zero-data-retention agreement with Anthropic. Your de-identified requests are handled under Anthropic's standard commercial API terms, which means they may be retained for a limited period for abuse monitoring. We are telling you this rather than implying a stronger guarantee than we can make. What we can say is that what reaches them contains no real names, no contact details, and no identifier that links back to you.

Your contacts

ReChannel can offer to fill in a person's details from your contacts, to save you typing. If you allow this, the contact information you pick is written into the app's on-device storage and nothing more. Your contact list is never uploaded, copied, or scanned in the background. You can decline the permission and add people manually instead — nothing breaks.

Notifications

ReChannel's reminders are scheduled by your phone, locally. We do not operate a push server and we cannot see whether a notification was delivered or opened. Whether you engaged with one is recorded on your device only, and used there to learn better times to reach you.

Deleting your data

In the app: Profile & Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes everything stored on your device, cancels every scheduled reminder, and instructs our server to delete the learning preferences described above. It cannot be undone.

One thing deletion cannot do: it does not cancel your subscription. Subscriptions belong to your Apple ID and only you can cancel one, via the App Store. If you are subscribed, cancel first, then delete.

You can also email us at connect@fugueworks.com to request deletion.

Children

ReChannel is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Note that ReChannel lets an adult record details about their own child in order to suggest ways to connect with them; that information is stored on the parent's device under this policy and is never transmitted in identifiable form.

Security

Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Requests to our server require a token issued to your installation. Our server runs with restricted, non-administrative privileges. No system is perfectly secure, but the most sensitive information — the people in your life — is not on our server to begin with.

Changes to this policy

If we change how ReChannel handles your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app.
